Well nothing modern is going to fit without a little convincing but if your building a beach buggy a little convincing shouldn't put you off. I think 03+ polo ones will fit. Come to think of it, the late VW beelte, the 94-95 ones that where imported from Brazil have modern stalks but are very rare. 2. it depends on the body type you have but generally the wheel arches are fairly open underneath and you would have to drill a hole in the arch for the fuel filler and then another one underneath to get back under the body to the fuel tank. it would be better to keep it on the bonnet someplace, where is up to you. If you can weld you can put it where you like, (remember never weld a used tank), if you want to use the stock locations then you can use an early tank where it is in the bottom right as you look at the car from the front, if you use a late tank it will be in the top left. I bought a new tank and did a bit of cutting and welding so it was in the middle of the bonnet.
