I have been doing a little work on the morris minor over the last few days. She wasn’t running right and I traced the error to the engine not getting a spark.
So I changed the rotor arm, points, condensor. I tried to start her and off she went. She drove for about 15 miles then bang. There was a huge bang and she lost power. The large backfire ended up blowing about a 7″ hole in the exhaust, but this still didn’t tell me what the prolem was. The guys on www.morrisminoroc.co.uk recommended to change the coil.
So today I changed the coil and replaced the exhaust with a stainless steel version.
Again she started on the first touch. Feeling brave I brought her for a test drive. Again about 20 miles into the journey the started loosing power and died.
So I’m no better off, I still don’t know what is wrong or how to fix it. I don’t know where to start (excuse the pum). I’ll update ye when I know whats the solution to this problem.
